Ansorg creates new lighting atmosphere for "Das Depot" in Stuttgart
Attractive, efficient and thrifty in the Swabian manner
Ansorg developed a lighting concept of rich contrasts for the Stuttgart flagship store of “Das Depot” which relies on powerful accents and a lean use of energy.
An extremely high efficiency of the products used and the requirement of an exciting lighting atmosphere go hand in glove here. The ambient lighting share was reduced considerably; the overall light level was lowered. The lighting accents – produced with low expenditure of energy – are meant to have an effect on the customers. Since the human eye does not perceive any illuminance or changes in the overall level of illumination, but only contrasts. The luminaires used are consistently fitted with 35 W lamps. Their operational efficiencies reduce the number of luminaires in the design process. In the Depot, over three floors and on an area of 1,000 square metres a connected load of only 15 watts per square metre is reached.
At the centre is the "Lightstripe" system that permits variable illumination, with pinpoint accuracy, of individual shop areas and of the merchandise. As the modules can be replaced easily and without the use of tools, Lightstripe is ideally suited to the flexible adaptation of the light to new situations in the salesroom. For the peripheral area accents, the LBS spotlight module was used, in the central area the gimbal-mounted recessed LCS module. Wherever no recessing of the Lightstripe duct was possible for architectural reasons, the surface-mounted spotlight Boxx was used for the accent lighting of the perimeters.
