Edeka ‘aktiv-Markt‘ Supermarket, Meckelfeld: Brilliantly staged with Silla
Meckelfeld near Hamburg, an Edeka supermarket straight from a picture book: comprehensive full range of food, service-orientated special departments, well-stocked fresh food area – here shopping is enjoyable. It is easy to find your way about, the products attract your attention. The choice and freshness are central themes in this supermarket. In this connection, the lighting from Ansorg is a significant instrument and design feature helping the customers to find the way and to feel good.
Focussed on: the aisle and shelf areas
The aisles are the guidelines in the market, the customer moves along their axes – always at eye level. For these important areas the Silla spotlight with double directional projector is a striking element, combined with an intelligent lighting solution. The sales-promoting illumination of the goods in the shelves takes priority, the lighting of the aisle area moves into the background. The range is, in this case, illuminated glare-free four times more intensively and the customers’ gaze is attracted to the products. Scattering losses of the light can be reduced by the high-grade reflector material. A dynamic lighting situation is obtained which shapes the shopping experience in a lively manner. The strategically important gondola heads are, moreover, systematically placed in the limelight by the recessed gimbal-mounted Cardo spotlights.
Brilliant light, efficient lighting technology
Economic efficiency is a topic in the supermarket and equally in the lighting market. At Edeka Dalinger, HIT technology is used in conjunction with high-grade reflector equipment and economically efficient ballast equipment, combining a high efficiency with lower energy consumption. In addition, appropriate filters in conjunction with HIT emphasize the illumination in the wine department, for cheese, fruit or vegetables. The only exception is the meat/sausage area where proven HST equipment with mood filters takes effect. A mixed concept of lighting technology that makes sense.
100 instead of 150 watts – without any losses
In the case of this project, Ansorg was able for the first time to use, for the product Silla SEL, 100W high-pressure metal halide lamps – without any loss of luminous intensity and/or light brilliance. That is a step forward in comparison with individual conventional luminaires, equipped with HIT 150 watts or classic strip lighting in which fluorescent lamps with 58 or 49 watts are used. This new solution saves up to one third of the energy costs. Also as regards the investment costs, Silla proves economical. Silla’s high degree of reflection permits great distances between luminaires and therefore only two spotlights are usually necessary for the aisle area. And finally, the lighting concept can also be economically convincing in operation: with a shop floor area of almost 3000 square metres it only just reaches a connected load of 15W/m². With this brilliant result the supermarket is well equipped for the future.
