It has been worth waiting. Finally, this summer Stuart Weitzman's first German flagship store was opened in Hamburg. Creating high-quality designer shoes for ladies under the motto 'A little obsessed with shoes' which not only convince with their shape and exclusivity, but are also wearable and comfortable, is the basic idea of the New York shoe label. Now also the store in Hamburg shows itself impressively in a futuristic shop design, supported by a lighting concept from Ansorg.

The stars prefer to wear them for the walk over the red carpet to collect Oscar awards. Not only Heidi Klum and Kim Cattrall wear them, no - also the 'perfectly normal' women are enthusiastic about the American creations. The design for the spacious interior design is from the Italian designer Fabio Novembre. Shoes and leather goods are presented on wave-shaped product racks which are made of Corian. That is a plastic which, when warm, can be transformed in any way required. Range and furnishing-related lighting planning creates the setting for this unusual product presentation in an ideal manner.

Recessed downlights of the Cardo series mounted on gimbals and equipped with the 70watt HIT Shoplight lighting equipment, merge unobtrusively into the ceiling of the room and ensure a calm ceiling image. Equipped with spotlight or medium flood reflectors, accentuated lighting is made possible. The light follows the goods. Therefore, the peripheral zones are illuminated to an increased degree and only where in the centre of the room product racks are arranged is additional light used. The cash register area is additionally provided with visual emphasis. Specially developed suspended luminaires, with lampshades made of chintz, here ensure a pleasantly soft lighting atmosphere.

The whole shop with the integrated coffee bar, the project planning of which was carried out by Schwarz Schmidt Architekten in Hamburg, appears in a friendly and inviting lighting mood and contributes to making women feeling good when buying shoes.
