New ballasts from Ansorg. Long product life, simple installation.

In future Ansorg uses new ballasts for high-pressure metal halide lamps (HIT). These guarantee an extended life time, new safety standards and simple installation.

From 2010 the new ballasts will be available in almost all wattages.

Protection against overvoltage. Overloaded voltage networks and voltage peaks put increasing pressure on the product lives of ballasts. The new electronic ballasts are protected from high voltage pulses of up to 3,000 volts, as compared with standard devices with a protection of merely 1,000 or 2,000 volts. The ballasts remain protected for 48 hours against the danger of continuous overvoltage up to 320 volts. The conventional ballast stops start-up at a voltage above 300 volts.

Protection against overheating. Excessively high ambient temperatures can heat up ballasts and hence destroy them. The new ballasts are designed for +55°C. As soon as the temperature rises further, the devices switch off automatically and switch themselves on again after a programmed cooling-down phase.

EOL (end of life) cut-off. Ansorg luminaires stand for a high light quality which we want to always ensure. As soon as the lamp has reached the end of its life and starts to lose its full luminous output, the ballasts cut off automatically. Hence there is no flickering of the lamp and the customer sees immediately when a lamp has to be replaced.

Longer product lives. The technical advantages of the new ballasts lead finally to a longer product life which reduces the constant replacement of the devices and hence also cuts costs. The conventional ballasts show an average life of 50,000 hours at an ambient temperature of 50°C. In the case of electronic ballasts even a minimum product life of 30,000 hours is guaranteed.

Simple installation by plug & play. With the new Ansorg ballasts, luminaire connection becomes child’s play. The integrated jack for the Wieland connector permits direct and uncomplicated connection of the luminaire and mains leads directly to the ballast. After installation ballasts can – for example, in the case of changed wattages of the luminaires – be replaced without any problems, also without any use having to be made of skilled personnel.
